Let’s take your space to a greater level with Greater Glass
Safety Glass
Safety glass is the standard choice for 99% of our installations, ensuring high levels of safety and compliance with regulations. We offer various types of glass to meet the unique needs of each project, ensuring both safety and style.
Grade A safety glass typically refers to toughened or laminated glass, both of which are derived from float glass. These products meet the safety requirements specified in the current Australian Standard AS1288, 2021.
Combining style and safety, the Greater Glass way.
Did you know?
Although float (or standard) glass is the most popular and basic form of glass, it’s neither a strong nor safe option as it shatters into large, dangerous shards when it breaks.
That’s why we recommend exploring other types of glass that offer greater strength and safety for your projects.
If you have float glass in your home, it may be time for an upgrade!
Toughened Glass
Toughened glass, also known as tempered glass, is a Grade A safety glass that is five times stronger than float glass, making it an ideal choice for many applications.
It’s perfect for use in shower screens, some glass balustrades, commercial shopfronts, doors, and any setting that requires a high resistance to impact and heat.
If toughened glass breaks, it shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than large, sharp shards, minimising the risk of injury.
For glass that will protect your space and everyone else in it, toughened glass is a great choice.
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is a popular choice for construction projects due to its Grade A safety rating.
It provides excellent safety and security, as its polymer interlayer removes the risk of shattered glass and increases resistance to breakage.
Laminated glass now comes in a variety of tinted colours, as well as options for added security, UV protection, solar control, decorative and acoustic benefits
For a customisable option that has high structural integrity, laminated glass is a great option.
Mirror Glass
At Greater Glass, our environmentally friendly and copper-free decorative mirror range offers a variety of colours, including grey, bronze, and antique, making it a popular choice for commercial projects like restaurants, hotels and bars.
For public spaces such as schools, our safety mirror range features a silver laminated option that prioritises durability and safety.
If you want to improve the aesthetic of your residential or commercial environment, mirrors are an effective way to add style and create a sense of more space.
Acoustic Laminate Glass
Today’s preferred glass product for reducing noise is acoustic laminate, which is a high-quality safety glass with a special acoustic layer.
Using acoustic laminate in an insulated glass unit can improve both noise reduction and energy efficiency. Acoustic laminates also come in various tinted colours and energy-efficient coatings, providing both thermal and acoustic benefits.
For window upgrades that perfectly blend style and functionality, acoustic laminate is the way to go.
Double Glazing Energy Efficiency Glass
Double glazing of windows and doors using Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) significantly improves the thermal performance of a building envelope by keeping warmth in during winter and heat out during summer.
Double-glazed glass units are custom-made and there are various options from entry-level to superior performance across clear, tinted and solar-controlled Low E-or soft coats all with added acoustic, security and privacy options.
If you’re looking for multi-functional glass with appeal and thermal insulation that can save on energy costs, this is a smart choice.
Decorative Glass
With patterns achieved through various methods, decorative or patterned glass is ideal for windows, privacy screening, front door panels and shower enclosures.
Decorative glass obscures visibility while still permitting light transmission, allowing maximum privacy while adding decorative flair to your interior or exterior design elements.
At Greater Glass, we offer decorative glass from our extensive standard range or you can completely customise your own unique glass design!
