We provide technical advice on the positioning of your custom mirrors so you can capture the best angle of the view you want to reflect and instantly elevate your space.

Mirror Glass Safety

Greater Glass also prioritises safety when selecting a fixing method, so we only use high-quality materials and utilise our expertise during the fixing process. There are several fixing methods so our friendly glaziers will ask whether you want the mirror to be permanently fixed or if it will need to be moved later.

Installing Mirrors

Our Greater Glass technicians can do:

Direct Fixing – Mirrors can be glued directly to the wall, which is commonly used for bathroom mirrors fixed on tiles. We use non-acidic, purpose-designed glazing silicone when directly fixing mirrors.
Hanging or Screw Fixing – Mirrors can also be hung like pictures or screw-fixed. If this is your preferred method of fixing, your Greater Glass expert can pre-drill holes when manufacturing your custom mirror.
Baton Fixing – We also do baton fixing, where we glue one baton to the back of the mirror and another to the wall, allowing them to interlock.

Mirror glass splashbacks

When choosing a mirror for your kitchen splashback, always select a toughened product for longevity and compliance. All mirrors used in wet areas must be 6mm thick to meet the revised Australian Standard AS1288, 2021.

Custom-cut mirror glass

At Greater Glass, we stock 4mm and 6mm thick silver mirrors and custom cut to size all mirrors according to your preferred style and shape. We do everything in-house and often within 24 hours.

Special Order Mirrors

We have a large variety of special-order mirrors that you can use for your bathroom, wardrobe, kitchen and even commercial areas. Just ask your friendly technician about custom mirrors and we’ll be happy to discuss your mirror needs and preferences.

Smokey Mirror
This specialised glass is painted on the back to create a range of darker tones compared to the traditional silver mirror. Smokey mirrors are toughened to achieve a Grade A safety rating, making them a compliant and ideal option for kitchen splashback.
Silver Safety Laminate Mirror
Similar to laminated glass, silver safety laminate mirrors include an interlayer that has a Grade A safety rating. It’s a great option for communal wall cladding and is best used for schools and gyms.
Bronze and Other Tinted Mirrors
Bronze mirrors are available at Greater Glass in both annealed and toughened options. Just ask your glazier about custom options for other tinted colours that match your style preferences.
Antique Mirror
Restaurants and bars often use antique mirrors to enhance the ambience. We have various styles available and we can provide samples that you can use as style inspiration for your next project.

Observer Mirror
This reflective coated glass has a mirror-like appearance on one side while providing privacy on the other. With a laminated component, observer mirrors ensure protection from human impact and reduce noise transmission. Observer mirrors are ideal for interrogation rooms, market research facilities and observation areas in educational and healthcare facilities.

All Greater Glass mirrors are covered by our 5-year workmanship guarantee as we source only the highest quality fittings from Australian-owned companies and all our installations are conducted by industry-leading tradespeople.

If any issue arises within this period due to workmanship, we will resolve the problem quickly and efficiently.

Here are some important notes about the warranty for your custom Greater Glass mirrors:

When cleaning mirrors, be careful not to expose the edges to water or chemicals as this can lead to black edge creep or de-silvering. Using ammonia or acid can significantly shorten the mirror’s lifespan and damages caused by this are not covered by the warranty.
Due to the inherent nature of glass, our guarantee does not cover breakage or scratches.
De-silvering of mirrors is also not covered, as it is a natural occurrence that is often caused by environmental factors.
